Making Appointments
Appointments are primarily made through our main office on Highland Avenue.  Calling (910) 484-0176 will connect you to our staff.  If this is your first time for an appointment, we will want an intake assessment.  This assessment will help determine the best clinician and time for your appointment.  Please have insurance information available at the time of the call and we will help veriify your insurance coverage and any qualifications or requirments of your insurance provider.
There are many times when we are unable to make an immediate appointment at the time of the call.  We will take the assessment information and call you back when an appointment is available.
We have additional locations where we are able to provide counseling.  If you live closer to Southview High School area or in the Eastover area, we have offices that are open at certain times in those areas.  Let us know when you call about having an appointment closer to your home.  Our other offices are on Highland Avenue and Westmont Drive in the Haymount area of Fayetteville.

Who Provides the Counseling?

Counseling is provided by state licensed or provisionally licenesed counselors from one of several mental health disciplines.  They include pastoral counselors, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, licensed professional counselors, and clincal social workers and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.  Our counselors hold a Masters and/or Doctorate in their fields and some of our counselors are dually licensed in more than one field.

Who can use the Center?
Anyone who seeks counseling that the Center is equipped to provide will be served.  We provide care to all who qualify regardless of their ability to pay.  Check the section on costs for full information about the fees that we charge.  Some clients require medical support such as hospitalization.  If we feel a person is likely to require these medical services and has no means of acquiring them, we cannot serve them, but do our best to refer the individual to an agency that can provide such medical services.

Do we provide medications?

We have a psychiatric mental health practitioner who is also a registered nurse.  She is able to provide medication management for those who require medication for their mental well-being and have a primary or personal physician for medical care.  Click on the link above for "Westmont Counselors" for information on Kathleen Carroll.  We also have a consulting psychiatrist who works closely with the Center and provides medication and hospitalization if the need arises.  We can also work with the personal physician of the client if that is more appropriate.

What types of counseling are provided?
We have counselors with many types of expertise and we provide many different types of counseling.  Individuals often seek our help in dealing with such problems as depression, anxiety, stress, coping with difficult situations, religious matters, adjustment to divorce, and other crises in their lives.  Couples often seek help with a wide variety of relationship, communication or fidelity problems.  Families often seek help dealing with parent-child issues, ADD and ADHD, behavioral problems of their children, helping children who have been abused in some way, family conflict, and other matters that threaten the life of the family.  We have therapists available for these and other situations.

Do we provide drug and alcohol counseling?
We have a counselor who specializes in drug and alcohol counseling and is a licensed clinical addictions specialist.  We can assess for these problems and can also provide personal or couple counseling.  Click on the link above for "Westmont Counselors" for information on Elizabeth Ramos.  We also support clients with other types of problems while they are also engaged in substance abuse counseling or programs such as AA or NA.

Do we take insurance?
We are providers for many health insurance companies, employee assistance programs, and managed care organizations.  There are countless insurance arrangements and these are constantly changing.  If you have mental health insurance coverage, please call the Center office and give us specific information about your plan.  We will check with your insurance company and determine what, if any, coverage you have and what the actual cost to you will be.  Some insurance companies and managed care organizations limit the number of providers and all of our clinicians may not be approved for certain insurancy company policies.  When insurance coverage is used, our standard fees apply.    We also provide services for Medicaid and Medicare clients.

What about military members and their families?
We are Tricare providers and many of our clients are Active Duty military or military family members.  There are special considerations for Active Duty members.  Please call the office for clarification of coverage and different options available to Active Duty members.
We are providers for MilitaryOneSource.com.  For members of the Wounded Warrior Battalion or Warrior Transition Unit, please contact your case manager and make arrangements for appointments with us through your case manager.  We provide tailored care to Soldiers in the WTU.
